This year IndiaFest celebrates 78 years of India’s Independence at the MN State Capitol grounds on August 15th, 2026. Please join us to celebrate the Annual IndiaFest of Minnesota and help us make it another success! Please register as a volunteer in order to be a part of the 2026 IndiaFest team.
Key Volunteer Guidelines & Information
- Minimum Age: 15 years (12 years if a parent also volunteers for the same slot).
- Volunteer Certificates: Volunteering high school students and youth volunteers will be issued official volunteer appreciation certificates for their hours via email after the event.
- Check-in & Check-out: All volunteers MUST check in at the Volunteer/Information Booth at least 15 minutes prior to their shift start time to gather materials and receive instructions. Please check out at the Information Booth after completion of your assignment to collect your food coupon (requires team lead sign-off).
- Food & Water: Free water and light snacks will be provided at the Volunteer Tent behind the Information Booth. Confirmed volunteers will be issued a digital food voucher.
- Dress Code: Feel free to wear casual Indian attire appropriate for an outdoor summer event. Please wear comfortable shoes/clothing and bring sunscreen, a cap, and sunglasses.
- WhatsApp Communication: Volunteer area WhatsApp groups will be formed to provide instructions and coordinate during the event. Please watch your email for the join link.
- Emergency Protocol: First Aid is located near the Information Booth. For lost children or security issues, find a coordinator or police officer with a radio immediately.
