♿ IndiaFest Parking & Accessibility Guide

We want everyone to have a wonderful experience at IndiaFest. Below is the detailed parking and accessibility information coordinated with the Minnesota State Capitol Complex guidelines.

Accessible Parking & Garage

Senate Office Building Garage (Sherburne Ave): Recommended for vehicles under 8.2 feet. Features 20 disability parking spaces available at no cost.

Access: Enter off Capitol Boulevard via Sherburne Ave. Use the call button at the garage entrance to notify Capitol Security for access. Elevators connect directly to the Capitol tunnel system (approx. 425 feet to Capitol elevators; benches are placed along the route).

Additional Accessible Lots:

  • Centennial Parking Ramp (Orange Level)

    658 Cedar St. Orange Level holds designated disability parking spaces.

  • Lot Q (Cedar St & Sherburne Ave)

    Surface parking lot located directly northeast of the Capitol building.

  • Lot N (Northwest/Behind Capitol)

    Surface lot located northwest of the Capitol, off University Ave.

  • Lot C (Rice St & University Ave)

    West side surface lot with multiple designated accessible parking stalls.

  • Ramp F (Fuller Ave off Rice St)

    Multi-level parking structure offering shaded disability parking spaces.

  • Lot AA (University Ave & Rice St)

    Surface parking lot situated northwest of the main Capitol lawns.

Drop-Off & Mobility Access

Mobility Drop-Off: Designated pick-up and drop-off zones are available on Cedar Street (east of the Capitol) and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. For tall vehicles over 8.2 feet, please use the bus cut-out on Cedar Avenue.

Wheelchair Entrance: The ground-floor entrance located directly under the front steps is fully wheelchair accessible (about 400 feet from drop-off areas).

On-Site Wheelchairs: Two wheelchairs are available at the Capitol Information & Tour Center on a first-come, first-served basis for use inside the building.

Accessible Restrooms & Hydration

Fully accessible restrooms are located inside the State Capitol building. Outdoor portable accessible restrooms are placed at the primary restroom blocks on the lawns:

  • Restroom Block - East Mall Lawn

    Main outdoor restroom block on the East Mall lawn, featuring accessible portable toilets.

  • Restroom Block - West Mall Lawn

    Main outdoor restroom block on the West Mall lawn, featuring accessible portable toilets.

  • Hydration Station (Info Booth)

    Free drinking water refill station located at the center of the Mall on MLK Jr. Blvd.

Golf Cart Shuttle & Support

Golf cart shuttle support is coordinated at the main Information Booth. Shuttles help transport visitors with mobility needs between designated parking lots and the Mall gates.

    Emergency medical services and support located near the West Lawn entrance.

No! IndiaFest Minnesota is completely free and open to the public. No tickets or registrations are required to enter the Capitol grounds.

Public parking is available at several locations nearby. You can park in the Centennial Parking Ramp, State Capitol Lot Q, State Capitol Lot N, or State Capitol Ramp F. Use the "Parking & Spots" filter on the map above to locate them and get walking directions!

Yes, the Minnesota State Capitol grounds and the event areas are fully wheelchair accessible. Accessible restrooms are located in both the East and West Lower Mall areas.

The Kids Activities Area (located on the lawn) features inflatable bounce houses, face painting, games, and cultural workshops designed specifically for children. Check the Kids Area filter on the map to find it.

The Lost & Found is managed at the main IAM Information Desk (INFO) located at the center of the Capitol Mall. First aid is also available nearby at the First Aid Station (FIRSTAID).
