This olympiad is designed as a learning celebration, not a high-pressure competition. It helps children learn about Indian history, culture, and values, build confidence in a structured setting, feel proud of their heritage, and connect with other Indian-origin families.

No. This is a multiple-choice written olympiad, age-appropriate, and based on a pre-shared study guide. There are no eliminations, no public questioning on stage, and no stage pressure. All children receive participation certificates.

Questions are age-appropriate, mostly factual and straightforward, and directly based on the pre-shared question bank and study packet.

Yes! We provide the official Question Bank and study guide in advance. You can download the PDF directly using the buttons on this page so your child knows exactly what to study.

Total event time is approximately 3 hours. Actual test durations are: Grades 3–5 (up to 40 mins), Grades 6–8 (up to 50 mins), and Grades 9–12 (up to 60 mins).

No. The Olympiad is conducted in a supervised, proctored environment to ensure fairness. However, parents are strongly encouraged to help their children study and practice beforehand.

All questions are multiple-choice and scored objectively. Top scorers per grade category will receive trophies and medals. Predefined tie-break criteria ensure 100% transparency.

Results are published on the website and shared via email. Trophies and stage honors are presented during the annual IAM IndiaFest celebrations on the Minnesota State Capitol grounds.

Registration is $5 for IAM Member children, and $15 (which includes annual student membership) for non-members. Membership directly supports IAM’s cultural and community initiatives.

A small portion (5–10%) of questions introduces children to IAM’s history (founded 1973), flagship events like IndiaFest, and community programs, helping youth understand the nonprofit organizations serving them.

Not at all! This olympiad is designed for all curious learners who want to explore Indian heritage and connect with peers. Participation and pride in learning matter far more than rank.
