IAM Corporate Connect is an evening of Professional Networking and Discussions about Inclusion, Diversity, Engagement, Equity and Justice. Our goal is to bring Professionals and Employee Resource Groups together to spark thoughtful conversations that can be turned into meaningful actions on current topics including the impact of the pandemic, social and racial justice, work-life harmony, immigration, reskilling and resilience in the face of constant changes.

 This event for our Corporate Partners is part of our annual IndiaFest series - a celebration of the rich heritage, traditions, diversity, and culture of India - with an extended format spread over multiple weeks that started on American Independence Day, July 4th and runs through Indian Independence Day on August 15th. 

Theme:  The New Normal - How can professionals and businesses continue to reinvent and stay relevant in an ever changing market and social environment.

Keynote Speaker

MR Rangaswami

MR Rangaswami is a software executive, investor, entrepreneur, corporate eco-strategy expert, community builder and philanthropist. Recognized as a software business expert, he participated in the rapid expansion of the Silicon Valley software industry during his tenure as an executive at both large and small software companies. In 1997, he co-founded Sand Hill Group one of the earliest “angel” investment firms and was featured on the front page of the Wall Street Journal. He produced the prestigious Enterprise and Software conferences that were held in Silicon Valley. He was also listed on the Forbes “Midas” list of investors. M.R. is the publisher of SandHill.com a leading website for entrepreneurs, VCs and CIOs. In 2007, M.R. embarked on a new venture as the founder of the Corporate Eco Forum, an invitation-only membership organization for Global 500 companies that demonstrate a serious commitment to environment as a business strategy issue. In 2012 M.R. founded Indiaspora to unite Indian Americans and to transform their success into meaningful impact in India and on the global stage.

Steve Grove

Commissioner Steve Grove leads the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). As commissioner of the state’s principal workforce and economic development agency, Commissioner Grove brings a wealth of private sector and civic experience to DEED. Originally from Northfield, Minnesota, Commissioner Grove is focused on growing the state’s workforce, closing the opportunity gap and providing businesses with the help they need to grow, stay and thrive.


Commissioner Grove was previously an executive at Google for 12 years, most recently serving as the founding director of Google’s News Lab, a global division of the company that partners with media companies and startups to drive innovation in the news industry. He holds a master's in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School and a B.A. in philosophy, politics, and economics from Claremont McKenna College


Arun Batchu

Arun Batchu is a Research Director with Gartner.

 In his role at Gartner, Arun specializes in AI-driven, open-source and cloud-native application design and development across the software development life cycle. Arun works to create thought leading research in modern Application Design and Development and advises IT leaders.
 Prior to joining Gartner, Arun served as the Vice-President of Engineering with United Health Group and Director of Digital Product Management & Development with Best Buy.

Miguel Ramos

As Sr. Director of Diversity & Inclusion Strategy for the Minnesota Twins, Miguel Ramos leverages deep multicultural marketing expertise to develop culturally diverse programming and stronger relationships with a wide range of diverse communities. In addition to being nationally recognized for his work, Ramos remains a tireless community champion.  He serves on the board of the St. Paul and Minnesota Foundation, is an honorary board member of the Minnesota India Association, and Emeritus board chair of Green Card Voices and Emeritus board member of the Science Museum of Minnesota.  He has been honored by several multicultural community organizations, has served on the board of the Greater Twins Cities United Way and was a past member of the Governor’s Advisory Committee on Minnesota Juvenile Justice.

Veena Iyer

Veena Iyer is the Executive Director of the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota.
 Veena graduated from the University of Chicago with a B.A. in history, with honors, and earned her J.D. (cum laude) from Harvard Law School. She speaks conversational Spanish and Tamil and basic Russian. She began her career as an Equal Justice Works Fellow and Staff Attorney at the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago, where she represented clients, created and managed a legal clinic for low-income immigrant students and conducted English and Spanish presentations for community members and service providers.
In Minnesota, she has served as president of the Minnesota Asian Pacific American Bar Association and remains a member of its Advisory Board and Judicial Committee, as well as holding board positions at Minnesota Women Lawyers and Portico HealthNet. She has received many honors, including Minnesota Lawyer’s Diversity & Inclusion Award in 2018, and being named to the Minnesota Super Lawyers list in 2019. She is licensed to practice law in Minnesota and Illinois.

Sanjay Terakanambi

Multi-cultural SENIOR IT EXECUTIVE providing 20+ years of experience in the education, publishing and retail industries with specialization in IT infrastructure technology. Attained expertise in IT infrastructure strategy development and execution, disaster recovery and business continuity plans, remote infrastructure management (RIM), storage resource management, data protection and security, infrastructure architecture, engineering, and management, and IT infrastructure consolidation.  Passionate about Inclusion and Diversity and is part of Leadership team that focuses on Inclusion & Diversity within the Digital & Technology division of Best Buy.

Guy Bowling

Guy Bowling is the Workforce Development Manager of the FATHER Project, a program of Goodwill/Easter Seals Minnesota.In that role, he has overseen the successful implementation of 3 federally funded grants. Including a five-year $2.5 million annual grant project in 2012 funded through the federal Department of Health and Human Services, through the Office of Family Assistance (OFA).  His specific area of focus is working with low-income, non-custodial, never married fathers and their families in culturally specific, multi-racial, multi-ethnic and rural communities.  He received his B.A in Individualized Studies from Metro State University.  He is currently in the Master’s of Public Affairs (MPA) program at the University of Minnesota in Fall of 2020. He was recently selected as a 2020 Bush Fellow through the Bush Foundation Fellowship Program. Will use this award to further his father empowerment studies while working to engage program alumni to improve police relations and influence the re-shaping of public safety.
