Advisory Council

The Trustee Advisory Council (TAC) is our long-term planning body that works to ensure the continued growth and success of IAM. TAC is dedicated to developing long-term strategic plans aimed to increase membership and revenue, improve effective operations, and to grow the IAM event and activity programs.

nag 01 Nag Bommareddy served as IAM President 2013 and as officer and Board of Director since 2010. As an IAM officer and President he had been instrumental in changing the course of IAM to revived membership base and to financial strength through corporate sponsorships. He had also influenced the change in working style of IAM officers and board that brought more collaborative work culture. Nag feels proud and fortunate that in his tenure as President, IAM hosted Honorable former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam in Minnesota.

He enjoyed working in IAM board as it provides opportunity to - hone one's leadership skills, experience working in collaboration with other volunteers and get satisfaction of giving back to the community. Nag completed his Masters in Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1995 and had been working in Software development since then.

He currently works as BI Engineer at Target Corporation. He plays volley ball and tennis for fun and enjoys watching sports including cricket. He currently lives in Woodbury, MN with wife Sridevi and daughter Sailu.


Babu Chimata served as IAM President 2015, Officer and Board of Director since 2011. During his tenure he has been instrumental in reorganizing IAM's Mission, Strategy for IAM's growth and its position among Minnesota non-profits, improving Civic & Government participation with the community, strengthening and expanding community engagement, building relationships with organizations & agencies through partnerships and improving financial strength through Grants & corporate sponsorships. He helped to increase IAM visibility through Branding, Marketing, Digital presence and streamlining operations.

Babu enjoys working with IAM as it provides to hone one's leadership skills, experience working in collaboration with other volunteers and get satisfaction of giving back to the community.

He has a Master's degree from University of St Thomas and works at CenturyLink as a Senior Leader. His passion is in social service, leadership and technology. In his spare time he likes to watch football and movies. He lives in Eden Prairie with his wife, two children and a dog.



Amit Kachru served as Treasurer from 2014-2015 and as officer and Board of Director. He works as the finance leader for the Heart Failure Business within Medtronic, Inc. Amit has held various finance roles partnering with Product Development, Strategy and Marketing. He co-led the Affordability initiative as part of the India Tiger Team which developed the Made-For-India patient financing solution to help patients in India access Medtronic therapies. Prior to Medtronic, Amit worked at Carlson Companies.

Amit holds a BBA degree in finance from Texas A&M University & an MBA from the University of Minnesota. Amit holds a dual citizenship of the United States & India, and has also lived in Germany & Singapore. Amit is on the Executive Committee for India Association of Minnesota (IAM) & the Steering Committee for Medtronic Asian Resource Group (MARG). He also serves on the Carlson Executive MBA Board of Advisors.
Amit is an avid cricket fan, likes listening to Hindi music and is passionate about giving back to the community. He currently resides in Maple Grove, Minnesota with his wife, Bhavna and daughter, Anya.

sunoj 01 Sunoj Narayan served as President 2014. He has been part of the India Association of Minnesota (IAM) for over 15 years, while serving on the IAM board for the last 5 years. He has served as the Secretary, Vice President, and most recently the 2014 President. He has led events such as Connect India and IndiaFest and held numerous other roles as part of IAM. Sunoj enjoys being part of IAM because it allows him to give back to the community and learn more about Indian culture, heritage and traditions.

A Biomedical engineering graduate from the University of Minnesota, Sunoj works at Bose Corporation, as the Cardiovascular Applications Engineer. He enjoys playing sports and likes to be active year round, along with traveling around the world (mostly for his job). Currently, Sunoj lives in Eden Prairie and is set to get married in May 2015.
